Future Oklahoma City Bomber Discharged from National Guard.

Jun 1992, Timothy McVeigh; History Commons

.

Former Army soldier Timothy McVeigh (see January – March 1991 and After and November 1991 – Summer 1992) is discharged from the New York Army National Guard after a brief stint. He is granted a general discharge “under honorable conditions.” His reason for discharge is “incompatible occupation,” a description often applied to reservists whose employers want them to work full time. [NEW YORK TIMES, 4/27/1995]

McVeigh will go on to bomb a federal building in Oklahoma City (see 8:35 a.m. – 9:02 a.m. April 19, 1995).
