The major missions of the group ′Demosistō′:
* Self-determination: Demosistō aims to achieve ‘democratic self-determination’ in Hong Kong, and aspires to Hong Kong’s political & economic autonomy from what they term ‘the oppression of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and capitalist hegemony’;
* Non-violent actions: Demosistō sees its democratic fight as non-violent actions, demonstrations, referenda, social discussions;
* Development of civil society: Demosisttō wants to encourage people of Hong Kong discuss their political views and the youth develop parties and civil movements;
* Equality and justice, trust of people, multiplicity: Demosistō believes in Hong Kong people they are able to build Hong Kong as a City of multiplicity with the values of justice and equality.
* ‘Battle’ for democratic legislation to inspire civil movements: Ivan Lam, who succeeded Nathan Law in May 2018 as a chairman, said the group will prepare for ‘battle’ for democratic legislation in Hong Kong, meaning, for example, Article 23 in the Basic Law (a controversy bill in the Article 23 caused massive protests in 2003) or proposed Anthem bill about anthem of the People’s Republic of China. The same time, May 2018, Demosistō changed their status from party to the group, when its candidates were banned on election in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. – Wikipedia: Demosisto.

Han Dongfang was a leader of the Tiananmen protests; but speaking from experience he urged workers not to participate the violent demonstrations of 2008. “One of the lessons I learnt from 1989; was that the huge massive street action looks powerful; yes; but after a crackdown; everybody disappeared. We are human beings and we have fear infront of machine guns. Even a million people in the street continued for three days. That power is not really reliable.””- Han Dongfang; founder of the Beijing Workers Autonomous Federation; Excerpt: Global Financial Meltdown; IG: 17-06-16_genxu-bombingchinesekindergarden.

Ronald Reagan: UN CN- Taiwan vote: monkeys still uncomfortable wearing shoes.
Ronald Reagan made racist remarks about African delegates to the United Nations, calling them “monkeys” and saying they were still “uncomfortable wearing shoes”, newly released audio recordings have revealed. Reagan, the actor turned politician who was a popular two-term president, made the comments in a phone call with the disgraced former president Richard Nixon as the two discussed a 1971 vote by the UN to recognize China, instead of the US ally Taiwan. At the time of the call, Nixon was still president and Reagan was governor of California. The two were discussing the Tanzanian delegation’s reaction to the vote, after delegates danced in the chamber. “To watch that thing on television, as I did, to see those, those monkeys from those African countries – damn them, they’re still uncomfortable wearing shoes!” Reagan tells Nixon, who erupts in laughter. – The Guardian: Ronald Reagan called African UN delegates ‘monkeys’, recordings reveal.

General Xu Qinxian – Chinese People Liberation Army 38th Group Army – Tianamen Square – Demand Written Orders to implement Martial Law.
In March 1989, Xu Qinxian was wounded in a grenade accident and sent to the Beijing Military Region Hospital in the capital. While hospitalized he watched the student movement unfold and was moved to tears by media coverage of students on hunger strike. In mid-May, he was recalled to Baoding to plan for the mobilization of the 38th Army. On or about May 20, 1989, the 38th Army was verbally ordered by the Beijing Military Region (BMR) to enforce martial law order against demonstrators in Beijing. Xu was a protege of Defense Minister Qin Jiwei, who had reservations about enforcing the crackdown. Xu said he could not comply with a verbal order to mobilize and demanded to see a written order. When told by the BMR that it “was wartime” and an order in writing would be provided later, Xu responded that there was no war and reiterated his refusal to carry out the order. President Yang Shangkun sent Zhou Yibing, the commander of the BMR, to Baoding to persuade Xu. Xu asked Zhou whether the three principals of the Central Military Commission had approved the martial law order. Zhou replied that while Deng Xiaoping, the chairman, and Yang Shangkun, the vice-chairman, had approved, Zhao Ziyang, the first secretary, had not. Without Zhao’s approval, Xu refused to act on the order and asked for sick leave. His request was not granted but he still refused to report to duty. Privately, he told friends that he would rather be executed than to be a criminal to history.
