EoP Q Re: Stan McChrystal Biden Harris Endorsement.

[Stan McChrystal] When I tell people what I want, I can’t tell anyone else wants for a president, but I can tell you what I want for a Commander in Chief. The first is we talk about Commander in Chief. Its not authority, its responsibility. The Commander in Chief accepts responsibility for all the people, that they serve. As a young military officer I was taught to inspect the feet of the young infantry men that worked for me.  I was taught to eat last, to sleep less. So I am looking for a president that is humble enough to understand that they are a servant. I don’t think we need a genius.  I don’t think we need a magician.  We just need an honest person who is willing to listen. We need someone who will take in information, surround themselves with talented people, and lead the country as best they can.  Anyone we choose will make mistakes, that’s for sure, but the reality is if we pick for character. If we pick for values.  We’ll be best off. …….. [MSNBC] There has been a lot of concern this last month about what the President has said about top generals and admirals, calling them losers, calling them other names……. Is Donald Trump fit to be Commander in Chief ……. [McChrystal] Well I think its a datapoint that we all can see. My father and grandfather were soldiers, my brothers were soldiers, my sister married a soldier. My wife is the daughter of a soldier. Her three brothers are soldiers, her sister is the widower of a soldier. So we are wrapped in the culture of soldiers. So when we hear things like that, clearly its dissapointing; but let me give you a comparative review.  I worked most closely with President Obama and Vice President Biden when I commanded in Afghanistan. And I had policy differences at times. They didn’t see everything the way I did, but in every instance they listened. In every instance they took in my view. In every instance I felt that they were trying to make the best decision based on all the information they had and based upon a bedrock of values.  So when we talk about a leader for the next four years. I think we talk about someone in my view, like Vice President Joe Biden who is humble enough to listen to experts, who is humble enough to respect people, who serve and have served, not to put them on a pedastal, and think that military can do no wrong, cause we know thats not true, but instead to have a respectful interactive relationship. I think that’s what we’ve got to look for and get past some of the hyperbole. ….. [MSNBC] So you think VP Biden will be a more effective commander in chief for the next four years. …….. [McChrystal] Joe, I do. I think he would surround himself with an effective team of good people. I think he would set a tone, in which he brings out the best of people.  Again, not everybody will agree with every policy, nobody ever will. And that’s healthy in a democracy, but we have to believe in our values. You have to believe that your Commander in Chief at the end of the day is someone that you can trust. And I can trust Joe Biden. ……… [MSNBC] General McChrystal endorsing Joe Biden. Have you and VP Biden reconciled since your 2004 Rolling Stone criticism of him, where you criticised him on his counterterrorism recommendations? Have you all talked through that?  …….. [McChrystal] We have not. We really didn’t have anything to talk through. I talked with him after the incident, but there was allot more smoke than fire in that reality. And I never didn’t respect VP Biden or President Obama. I think my willingness to endorse  should signal to people that there was a respectful relationship then, and just how important I think it is to replicate that kind of respectful relationship between senior military and leaders now.  …… [MSNBC] Can you speak to Presidential temperament? What does it mean to have a Commander in Chief with the right kind of temperament? How would you describe that in a president? ……… [McChrystal] I think you have hit something that is very very important, because crisis will come that are completely unanticipated. We just can’t know what is going to buffet an administration.  I think the first thing a President has to have is a set of values that they believe in about the nation and what they are for; and its about the nation not themselves. I also think that they have to be willing to take in information and sometimes that information can be pretty upsetting or irritating.  I know as a senior military officer, you develop a strategy and you start to propagate that forward and it doesn’t go well. Then people in your organization have got to come and tell you its not going well. And there is a great danger cause you endorsed it, your name is attached to it, and they may be hesitant  You have got to create an environment that says, if we are going the wrong way, you have to tell me that. And so that environment that is created  is essential across the goverment as it is in the military organization ….. [MSNBC] Reading biography about George Marshall about public service to the country. Can you talk about the biggest myths and realities of leadership. What are you looking for in a leader. ……. [McChrystal]  We profiled thirteen leaders, my favourite was Dr Martin Luther King Jnr. He is often viewed two-dimensionally. He stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and gave this amazing speech in 1963. And people think he was famous for his rhetoric, his oratory skills, but in reality he was a roll up your sleeves manager. He was leading a diverse civil rights movement. He didn’t have positional power. He didn’t have financial power. In fact he was a relatively young man. He was killed before he was forty. So what he was constantly pulling in different perspectives, constantly making deals, constantly making compromises, constantly bringing that element into a network so they could move forward together. Its that unifying effort that I think is the miracle of what Dr King did, but we sometimes don’t focus on that part of what he did, for all the other great things. [MSNBC: Stan McChrystal endores Joe Biden, via Raw Story]

You are of course more than entitled to endorse anyone you want for a President, however if you want to remain an EoP Applicant [eop-applicants]; then if you want to endorse a candidate for President, you should choose from available EoP Law candidates. As of date, there is only one EoP law candidate in the US Presidential race: Timothy McVeigh [mcveigh2020].

McVeigh2020 [mcveigh2020: Ntc of Intent SoS Filings] is the only EoP Law – Ecology of Peace Truth and Reconciliation to End the Abel and Kane Cold War – US Presidential Candidate. As of date none of the other US Presidential candidates have accepted McVeigh2020 invitations to adopt McVeigh2020 EoP TRC platform as their own.
